4+1 Accelerated Master's Degree in Biomedical Engineering

Biomedical engineering integrates biology, medicine, & engineering science into a cross-disciplinary field focused on improving human health & solving problems in healthcare delivery. The field covers such broad areas of bioinstrumentation and imaging, biomaterials, tissue engineering and regeneration, and biomechanics. The Biomedical Engineering department works in close collaboration with colleagues in the UMass Chan Medical School.

This accelerated five-year coursework-based program allows up to 12 approved credit hours taken as a UMass undergraduate to count towards our 30-credit master's degree, and up to 6 of those hours can be double-counted to meet both BS and MS degree requirements.
