Warring States Project
Reviews
We are now and then asked for our opinion on some recent or standard book in the Sinological field (or out of it). We have sometimes encountered a book that we think deserves attention in the Sinological field (or out of it). We have usually replied to these inquiries, or made those recommendations, by personal E-mail. But if there are larger issues involved, that seems not quite sufficient. A note to the WSW list is still personal, since that list's archive is restricted to list members. The Project's journal does not include reviews. What does that leave? Only the occasional invited review in another journal. For the rest, we have added this section to the site as a place where book comments can be more widely shared.
We wish it to be understood that we have felt free to consider only points of particular interest in a book, without incurring responsibility for an evaluation of the book as a whole.
