Ancient China in Context
Studies and Documents
These paperback monographs have the same format as the Project's journal, and include topics which are too long for inclusion in a volume of the journal, and at the same time too specialized to find a place in our major book series, The New Chinese Classics. They include a study of Chinese character vocabularies and their use in stylometrics, a manual on the methods of textual study in all languages, and an overview of the entire literature of ancient China (the "Studies"); along with treatments of lost or little-known minor texts, or collections of articles on a major text for which a full-scale definitive study does not yet seem to be indicated (the "Documents").
The listing below includes all titles presently planned, along with our best estimate of the date of eventual publication. Some items have preliminary on-line versions, elsewhere at this site. Suggestions for additional titles are welcome at any time, and may be made via the mail link at the bottom of this page.
