Warring States Project
The Project's principal E-mail network, the Warring States Workshop (WSW), began on 8 March 1997 as a medium for the discussion of Conference papers. It later replaced a previous exchange of postal Notes and Queries, and now parallels the Conferences as a general discussion medium in its own right: a forum for ongoing collaboration in the task of clarifying Warring States texts and their historical implications. On 1 April 1999, after distributing 1,428 messages, WSW shifted to a different Internet server, and acquired an archive. WSW and several more specialized E-lists together reach about 150 scholars around the world.
All Project lists assume a certain basic understanding. Those interested will find that understanding outlined in the pages grouped under the heading Making Contact, below. If that understanding is acceptable, the next step is to apply to join whichever list may be appropriate.
