Some texts, like Mark and to a certain extent Luke, have an Alpha core. Others, like 1 John, have an Alpha component which can be extracted by analysis. There are also texts, both canonical and uncanonical, which are Alpha (though by no means exactly the same version of Alpha) in their entirety. The most important are included in this section:


As late as the 4th century, pure Alpha texts are still being produced. We cannot pretend to survey that large field, some are listed in the Late Texts section.
