The Writing Program
Tech Tutorials
Technology Tutorials
The following tutorials demonstrate various applications of computer resources available to UMass students and teachers. I will be adding more as time goes on, so check back regularly. As always, please email me (Brian Houle) with feedback or questions.
- These tutorials require the Adobe Flash Player (version 8 or higher).
- They incorporate both audio and video, so be sure to turn on your computer speakers.
- These tutorials are best viewed at resolutions of 1024x768 or higher. A new full-screen window will appear when you play a tutorial, but you may need to resize it a bit.
- Look for the control buttons and progress bar at the bottom of the movie window -- it allows you to play, pause, rewind, and fast-forward the movie.
How to Use UDrive to Create
a Simple Password-Protected Webpage
For Peer Response
This group of tutorials demonstrate how to set up UDrive to share files and folders. They also demonstrate how to create a simple web page using Microsoft Word in order to provide access to those files and folders. Although these demonstrations focus on peer response, you can use what you learn to create web pages and share files for other purposes. After going through these tutorials, you should be able to:
- Upload/download files from your UDrive.
- Add contacts and groups to your account.
- Create new folders .
- Change permissions on files and folders.
- Create a web page in MS Word with hyperlinks to files and folders on your UDrive account.
