Whether you're trying to organize a writing group with fellow grad students or want to design a peer review activity for the classroom, careful planning can ensure your next peer review session is a success. A panel of experienced writing instructors will demonstrate strategies to avoid common peer-review pitfalls and get the most out of peer review. Co-sponsored by Graduate School Office of Professional Development (OPD) and the UMass Amherst Writing Center.

Online Tutoring

Can't make it into the Center? The Writing Center offers online tutoring!

We believe that the most effective writing tutorial is face-to-face, however we also want to accommodate writers who can't always make it to the Center for a tutoring appointment. (Because of a variety of reasons writers may prefer online tutoring—lack of transportation, last-minute questions, bad weather, discomfort in our space.) As an alternative to in-person appointments, we offer online tutoring using audio/video chat and an online workspace where writers and tutors can work on a project collaboratively.
