We were pleased to organize our first ever Friends' event! On August 21, Friends of Women's Studies gathered in Lenox, MA for Tina Packer's "An Afternoon With Virginia Woolf" with actress Tod Randolph, director Daniella Varon and Harvard scholar/playwright Carol Gilligan. The event was in the WhartonTheatre at the Mount, Edith Wharton's former home, now the home of Shakespeare and Company Theatre, of which Tina Packer is Artistic Director. Friends enjoyed a box supper on the grounds of the Mount following the performance. The friends continue to try and raise funds to support the vigorous and expanding field of Women's Studies. These funds will be used for special events and speakers, visiting lecturers, and student scholarships.
