The Escort Service at UMass is designed to provide safe, dependable and courteous campus travel
for students, faculty, staff and guests of the community. Anyone going to or coming from
University property (no off-campus operations) is eligible for the escort service.
Service is available during the semester, from 7:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m., seven days a week and on a
limited basis after 3 a.m. and during semester break.
There are three types of escort service:
Walking - during hours of operation, properly trained student security staff, equipped
with radio communication, security hat, and a security ID badge will serve as escorts.
Support - a vehicle that travels to the outer parking areas, North Village and Lincoln
Apartments.
Call 545-2123 to arrange for walking escorts on-campus, and for vehicle escorts to/from
parking areas and University apartment complexes.
Fixed Route - Escort vehicles travel a fixed route on campus beginning at the SW
Horseshoe and continuing every half hour until 2:00 a.m. See below for regular stops.
