Perverse Modernities: A Conversation with Lisa Lowe and Jack Halberstam

Thursday, November 20th, 4:00-5:30pm

Campus Center Room 917

Please join Professors Lisa Lowe (Tufts) and Jack Halberstam (USC) for a discussion of their co-edited “Perverse Modernities” series with Duke University Press. Since 2006, “Perverse Modernities” has been hugely important in complicating and advancing both queer and critical race studies scholarship.  Books published in the series represent important new research that brings together the study of sexuality, race, colonialism, and political economy. In line with its goal of breaking down thematic boundaries and historiographic assumptions, the “Perverse Modernities” series has proven a critical site for interdisciplinary inquiry and methodological diversity and innovation. Professors Lowe and Halberstam will discuss the legacy of the series and new, emerging areas of research.

Please be sure to also attend these other Five College Events!
