University Dancers Tour

University Dancers, composed mainly of Dance majors, is the only college touring company in New England that offers audiences a full range of dance repertory; many dances have historically been choreographed by UMass Amherst faculty. The touring experience and the interactions at K-12 schools, other colleges, and community and retirement centers enable our dancers to have real life experiences. For example, University Dancers worked at the Kensington Elementary School, an inner-city school, and through its workshops, activities and performances, the children responded with a remarkable brightening of spirit. Their standardized test scores also rose, although there's no certainty this was directly attributed to the University Dancers' presence.
