Special Collections & University Archives (SCUA) staff solicit materials from the community, make them accessible to the public and assist community members with research. With substantial holdings in African American history and culture, social and racial justice, agriculture, the environment, and organized labor, SCUA houses approximately 30,000 rare books, nationally significant manuscript collections, historic maps, and the official records of the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
