"Science for the People: The 1970s and Today" Conference

Science for the People arose in 1969 out of the anti-war movement and lasted until 1989. Attendees of the “Science for the People: The 1970s and Today” conference will: (1) Explore the history of Science for the People; (2) Join veteran members of Science for the People along with other scientists, scholars, activists, and students who want to harness scientific resources for social needs; and (3) Debate Science for the People’s analysis, methods, and relevance for current movements around climate change, the militarization of science, food justice, the construction of race and gender, and more!
