Northeast Alliance for Graduate Education and the Professoriate

UMass Amherst is the lead university for the NSF's Northeast Alliance for Graduate Education and the Professoriate (NEAGEP), and one of 26 NSF-funded alliances for Graduate education and the professoriate (AGEP) programs in the US. It sponsors a number of programs to recruit, retain and prepare under-represented minorities for careers in the professoriate. The NEAGEP’s goal is to increase the number of domestic students receiving doctoral degrees and pursuing careers in the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) field.
