Engaging Massachusetts Middle and High School Students in Engineering and Computer Science: After School

College of Engineering undergraduates work with middle school students engaged in after-school programs. The number of programs we work with and exact locations vary from year to year. In Fall 2014, we hosted middle school students from Amherst at our UMass-Amherst Media Makerspace, introducing them to E-textiles, Arduinos, and other Do-It-Yourself technology. We are also desigining an afterschool program in collaboration with Easthampton schools, and plan to be back in Holyoke at the Boys and Girls Club in the spring 2014.
