It is crucial to the maintenance of faculty or staff employment status that specific HR transaction be properly understood and managed. This session will provide an overview of the life cycle of an employee and the corresponding HR and Benefits transaction changes.

Course Objectives :

Participants will learn:

The applicable University, State and Federal employment requirements; employee tax and direct deposit information
The lifecycle of an employee and the corresponding HR transactions (Personnel Action Forms)
How to identify “red flags” within the PeopleSoft HR System and importance of prompt notification of central HR
The range of employee benefits and the relationship with GIC
PRE-REQUISITES :
  • General knowledge of the hiring process for faculty and/or staff
  • General knowledge of Human Resources and Personnel Information Data
  • General knowledge of the e*mpac Human/Resources Payroll System
