Effective job description writing and design, and realistic recruitment strategies, are both crucial to attract qualified job candidates, and critical in the successful selection and retention of those hired. This session provides an overview of the search procedures and hiring process. Required documentation and specific guidelines for completing mandated employment forms will also be covered.

Participants will learn:

How to write an effective and accurate job description/Form 30
An overview of campus search procedures
How to use personnel requisitions in the recruitment and selection process
Special considerations related to hiring international employees (non-US residents)
US Department of Justice requirements for form I-9
PRE-REQUISITES :
  • General knowledge of the hiring process for faculty and/or staff
  • General knowledge of Human Resources and Personnel Information Data
  • General knowledge of the e*mpac Human/Resources Payroll System
