Active Threat Training

There have been many incidents of serious violence at Colleges and Universities across the country. UMass Police have defined any deliberate incident that exposes you to an immediate risk of serious injury as an Active Threat. The UMPD has developed an informational workshop to help you protect yourself at the University and in your daily life. This workshop will cover definition of an Active Threat, video presentation of what you can do to protect yourself and what law enforcement will do when they arrive, how you can develop a “survival mindset” and provide prevention resources.

Registration is a two step process:
1. Initial registration is conducted through WL&D.
2.Once registered , YPD will contact each applicant to arrange for a criminal history check. Upon completion of the process, an email confirmation will be sent by YPD verifying placement in the academy.
