    Respectful workplaces have a significant impact on employees; increasing overall productivity, empowering when managing change, and even enjoying work.  As workplaces become more diverse, employees are benefitting in numerous ways from the differing views, backgrounds, and identities.  However, these differences can sometimes manifest in behaviors that lead to disrespect and increased conflict. 

    This two-part workshop focuses on behaviors that create a respectful workplace and learning how to take action through bystander awareness training to maintain a respectful workplace.

  • DreamWeaver For UMass Websites: Certificate Series

    Adobe Dreamweaver is a state-of-the-art application for web development. This series will discuss how to maintain your existing UMass websites and how to create new ones, using Dreamweaver functionality, to make it as easy as possible. Those who attend all three consecutive sessions will be entitled to one hour of free follow-up consultation after the last session. You determine the content!

  • Editing and Proofreading: Workshop Series

    From formal publications to informal emails, how documents look is just as important as their content.  In this two-part workshop, participants will review grammar fundamentals, differentiate between the editing and proofreading process, and learn tips and techniques needed to edit and proofread their work with success.

  • Supervisory Leadership Development Program (SLDP): Certificate Series

    This certificate program offers in-depth learning for supervisors and managers who seek to establish or enhance the broad range of knowledge, skills, and abilities required for effective supervision.  The program covers topics such as performance management, dealing with employee conflicts, organizing and delegating work, and implementing campus policies.  Organized around four compentencies of managing self, others, the work, and the system, the course offers both new and seasoned supervisors an opportunity to learn collaboratively with supervisors from across campus.

    Please note:  Individual sessions in this course cannot be taken separately.

  • Using Microsoft Excel 2010: Certificate Series

    Microsoft Excel 2010 is about more than crunching numbers!  Learn what it can do and how best to use it. 

    Pre-requisites:  Ability to use a Windows computer (including the mouse and keyboard), to create a new document, open an existing document, and save a document. 

    Those who attend all three workshops will be entitled to one free hour of follow-up consultation after the last workshop.

  • Using Microsoft Word 2010: Certificate Series

    Struggling with Word 2010 can be frustrating; knowing how to use Microsoft Word 2010 effectively can make work productive and successful.  People, who have been using Word for some time, may find switching to the new version challenging.  Learn how to edit text efficiently, format documents consistently, and create mailing lists, flyers or newsletters.

    Pre-requistes:  Ability to use a Windows computer (including the mouse and keyboard), to create a new document, open an existing document, and save a document.

    Sessions may be taken as individual workshops. Those who attend all three sessions will be entitled to one free hour of follow-up consultation after the last workshop.  You determine the content!
