Nichol C. McCarter

Nichol C. McCarter is currently a graduate student at UMass Amherst in the English program. Her studies focus on a critical analysis of how rhetoric and literature affect the human consciousness through the lens of environmental issues, queer studies, animal studies, disability studies, and their intersections with one another. Outside of her work at UMass, she works as the program coordinator for Central Connecticut State University's LGBT Center. She deeply believes in the philosophy that “there can be no peace without justice for every living being” and she challenges herself to apply that to all aspects of her work and life.
