Our organizational consultants work with departments to assess needs and develop strategies which can enhance the performance and effectiveness of individuals, work groups and the organization. We offer a wide range of services that include: individual & organizational assessment, strategic planning, respectful workplace development, work style collaboration, role clarification, supervisor coaching and development, communication improvement, and conflict resolution/mediation services.
Identifying the strengths and challenges of your department is often the first step to improve organizational effectiveness. Assessment services are provided free of charge to UMass departments and work groups. One of our consultants works with you and/or members of your department to identify initial concerns and develop an appropriate assessment process. Assessment can encompass: individual interviews, focus groups, written assessment tools, and review of organizational materials. An assessment summary is prepared for the department with recommendations for possible strategies or suggestions for improvement.
Our consultants offer individual assistance for supervisors dealing with organizational or performance issues. We listen to your concerns and provide you with the professional guidance to: develop strategies to address performance concerns; create individual performance improvement plans; review performance evaluations; and identify additional campus resources and services.
We provide traditional mediation services to campus organizations and individuals to resolve workplace and organizational concerns. We also offer facilitated conversations for individuals or groups to assist in the resolution of workplace or organizational conflict.
If you are planning a departmental retreat, large group, or organizational meeting we can guide you in the design of an effective agenda to meet your goals for the event. We can help you identify tools and processes for effective group participation and interaction. We also provide professional facilitation for retreats, meetings or other events.
Our consultants can help your organization, department or work group in a strategic planning or goal setting process. We can assist in the development and facilitation of short or long-term strategic planning process. These can range from half-day planning retreats to an in-depth process to identify one to five year strategic plans. We can assist organizations to: develop organizational mission statements; identify organizational values; write short and long-term vision statements; develop annual plans; and connect individual performance goals to organizational strategic plans.
