Offshore Wind Collaborative

waterwindfarmThe Wind Energy Center was a key partner in the establishment of the Massachusetts Offshore Wind Collaborative, which also included the Department of Energy, the Executive Office of Environmental Affairs, General Electric, and the Massachusetts Renewable Energy Trust. The initial work focused on researching the major challenges to Offshore Wind Energy and included UMass, MIT, and the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute.

The Offshore Wind Collaborative developed A Framework for Offshore Wind Energy Development in the United States, which outlined strategies for addressing challenges and achieving sustainable offshore wind energy development. This group was also instrumental in supporting the Hull Offshore Wind Project. The effort later evolved into the US Offshore Wind Collaborative.
