The Valley Women's History
Collaborative (VWHC) is an active group of students, scholars, and community
volunteers dedicated to researching, collecting, preserving, and publicizing
the history of women committed to social justice for women, including
but not restricted to self-identified feminists, lesbians, womanists,
and queers in Hampshire, Franklin, and Hamden Counties of Western Massachusetts
from the mid-1960s to the present.
We welcome inquiries. Please
contact one of the VWHC Coordinators if you
can volunteer to assist us. Possible areas of contributions include:
- Research of a particular
topic, group, event, etc.
- Oral Histories (of yourself
or others)
- Outreach
- Fund-raising

40 YEARS OF
CREATIVE WOMEN WORKERS IN
THE PIONEER VALLEY
- The Valley Women’s
History Collaborative has been awarded a Creative Economies grant from
the University of Massachusetts President's Office. This project will
document women's creative work in the Pioneer Valley over the past 40
years. From dance to
craft to visual arts women have had a tremendous impact on the arts
in the Pioneer Valley. This incredible history is now being collected!
