Heroes in Health Care Project

The University of Massachusetts Amherst College of Nursing has received a three-year, $1 million federal grant to implement “Heroes into Health Care: Veterans Entering the Nursing Workforce,” a program designed to increase the number and percentage of ethnic minority and disadvantaged veterans who successfully complete a university-based nursing education and become employed as nurses.

NOTICE [about Summer courses]

If you are planning to take a summer class and wish to utilize your GI bill benefits (i.e. Chapter 30, 33, 35, 1606, etc); you MUST inform the Veteran Services Office when you register. Please notify us via email with your full name, student id, summer session one and / or two, the course name and number of credits.

VRAP is not offered at UMass

The VRAP [Veterans Retraining Assistance Program] is not offered at four year institutions. It is only offered by community colleges or technical schools.

Welcome to the UMass Amherst Veterans Services website!

Veterans services provides programming and support for families, actively serving military members, and separated veterans. We are now in two locations - education benefits is now located in the Bursar's Office to streamline your benefits process, and we are newly located in the Student Veteran Resource Center, 19 Dickinson Hall where we deliver programming, peer-to-peer support, and a place to take a break, socialize or study.
