Developer Chemical Preparation Assignment

PREPARATION OF DEVELOPER CHEMICALS

Materials Needed:

-Tap Water

-Something to stir with

-Developer Stock (Green Label Box: use only one of bottles A, B, and C)

-Fixer Stock (Red Label Box: use only one of bottles A and B.)

1.) Remove hoses from containers and suspend so that chemicals won’t run out of the developer onto the floor.

2.) Remove any remaining chemical from vats under developer by pouring developer down sink drain, rinsing drain afterwards and pouring fixer into the hazardous waste container marked “Fixer”. Take care to thoroughly rinse containers so that they are neat.

3.) Pour tap water up to the bottom black line on the container. Carefully remove the tops of chemical containers and add the chemicals sequentially by starting with “A”. Pour in slowly. Stir well after each addition.

4.) Finally, top off to the upper black line with tap water and stir well.

5.) Place vats back under the developer and reattach the hoses to the appropriate vat. Clean up any spills.
