Tuition & Fees

Are UWW students eligible for financial aid?

Yes! UWW students are eligible for financial aid if they meet the same requirements applied to all UMass Amherst students. Over 50% of UMass Amherst students receive a financial aid award. Many who believe their higher income would make them ineligible find that they are eligible for cost-effective loans when they apply for aid.

Tuition and fees for 2009-2010

How much you will be charged for tuition and fees each semester depends on the UMass Amherst UWW program you are enrolled in, whether you will be enrolled for Continuing & Professional Education or the University’s day division courses, and how many credits you will be taking. Look for the cost of course fees per credit for UWW courses in the program descriptions, because there are some variations.

Tuition and fees for a part-time UWW student carrying a six-credit load in the first semester total approximately $2300 for students in the UWW Individualized Degree program and approximately $2900 for students in the Elementary Licensure Program.

The tuition and fees charged for non-UWW courses will depend on whether they are scheduled in the University’s day division or in Continuing & Professional Education, which department sponsors them, and whether they meet on campus or are delivered online. For more information about these fees, see the fees and expenses page of the Continuing & Professional Education web site.

This second fee is added to the UMass account when the prior learning portfolio is submitted. The second prior learning fee schedule for 2008-2009 ranges from an additional $300 for 16-20 credits up to an additional $1200 for the highest range of credits.

All UWW students who are taking courses at UMass Amherst while in UWW are required to pay this fee.

Continuing & Professional Education registration fee: Each term (including spring, summer, fall and winter) upon enrollment in courses, you will be charged a $50 registration fee.
