Are UWW students eligible for financial aid?

Yes! UWW students are eligible for financial aid if they meet the same requirements applied to all UMass Amherst students. Over 50% of UMass Amherst students receive a financial aid award. Many who believe their higher income would make them ineligible find that they are eligible for cost-effective loans when they apply for aid.

The UWW Business Studies focus is designed for professionals wishing to complete their first bachelor's degree by pursuing areas of study in business and organizational leadership.  Students may choose from a collection of online courses offered by the UMass Amherst Isenberg School of Management and other departments to round out the UMass Amherst UWW degree. Concentrations in this area include all non-profit and business-related topics, such as marketing, accounting, management, fund-raising, information management, arts management, and associated fields.  Students in this program earn a UMass Amherst Bachelor’s of Arts degree through the University Without Walls while working on a focus area in Business Studies.

Courses The UWW Business Studies focus lets you study in a program offering courses from UMass Amherst’s nationally known Isenberg School of Management undergraduate program. All courses forming the UWW Business Studies focus are made available to students in a schedule they can use to complete their degree and are offered fully online. Students can select from a wide array of courses to form their focus area. Here is a sample listing of course topics:

Design Your Own Degree Since 1971 UWW has helped adults design and complete their first bachelor's degree, and now offers you the opportunity to design your degree with focus in Business Studies. Here are some highlights of UWW:

  • Up to 75 credits may be accepted through our transfer credit policy
  • You can receive up to 30 UMass Amherst credits for learning you’ve gained from your life, work and training experiences.
  • You will have a UWW advisor from the time you start your studies until you put on that cap and gown at graduation.
  • UWW and UMass Amherst faculty teach all courses, and can be reached by email, phone or in person.

Time and flexibility are important. UWW will help you progress through your degree at a pace that suits you. Most UWW students complete their degree in just five semesters.
