Successful 35th Anniversary Celebration Held on June 16th
UWW 35th Anniversary Celebration plans came through,
with then Chancellor John V. Lombardi inviting guests,
to the June 16th evening affair in the UMass Amherst Student Union
Ballroom. The keynote speaker was Jeff Taylor, ’01
UWW alum, founder of Monster.com and current CEO of eons.com.
Other featured speakers were Massachusetts State Senator Stanley
Rosenberg,
former UWW Director Ed Harris, and Director Cindy
Suopis. The Master of Ceremonies was former UWW
Director Gary Bernhard.
The evening included a cocktail hour, a sit down dinner, dancing to live tango and Latin jazz band Cidade, as well as historical displays, memorabilia and a newly filmed UWW video.
