UWW faculty up for UMass teaching award

UMass Faculty members Lisa Fontes, Karen Stevens and Cindy Suopis have been nominated for the UMass Amherst Distinguished Teaching Award.

"Being nominated for the Distinguished Teaching Award is one of many highlights and rewards for me at UWW but nothing can outdo the satisfaction I receive in seeing adult students accomplish their educational goals," stated Suopis.

"I work hard to help University Without Walls students realize their potential as thinkers, writers, and professionals in their fields," stated Fontes. "This nomination shows me that some students recognize of my efforts--and so I'm really happy about it!" Karen Stevens added, "I am really so moved that I have been nominated for this incredible award, but I wish I could nominate my students who have taught me so much about dedication, perseverance and learning from 
experience."
