UMassOnline recognizes the value of UWW giving credit for experience
In a recent UMassOnline blog, UMassOnline's Som Seng recognized UMass UWW's practice of awarding credit for the learning gained from life and work experience, and drew attention to the cost savings that occurs for our UWW students when they earn credits this way.
In the same piece our own Karen Stevens, Ed.D, Chief Undergraduate Academic Advisor and Senior Lecturer is quoted as saying, "UWW deeply respects the rich and diverse experiences our adult students bring to the program, and for 40 years we have been helping them translate this experience into academic credit. Our students go through a rigorous and rewarding process to earn prior learning credits, and at the same time save an enormous amount of money and time. What our students get for their prior learning assessment fee is the best deal going.”
