Working with people who are bossy, rude, or controlling can be toxic to your wellbeing. Chris Willenbrock, of Workplace Learning and Development, will explain how to identify toxic behavior and the steps you can take to protect yourself.

Safety on Campus, Active Shooter
Officer Brian Kellogg will speak about Active Threat training, a course that if offered by the UMass Police Department. Although encountering an active threat on campus remains remote, the UMass Police encourage members of the campus community to be prepared.

The Circle of Life: Hospice Care of Franklin County
Our very own Jennifer Bennett, long time UWN member, shares her story of becoming a volunteer as a hospice worker and how she eloquently puts it, ”it’s not about dying but it’s really about living”. Join us for this honest and inspirational talk.

October 28th, 2012 Rays of Hope – Team UMass Amherst: walking to help raise money for breast cancer research.

December 12th, 2012 Holiday Luncheon, A free, Members Only Event – Join us for a luncheon celebration! Teacup raffle and maybe a cookie exchange! Come together to celebrate the joyous holiday season!!

January 2013 Toasty Kids – Lisa Groth, our UWN Charity Events Coordinator, will be orchestrating “Toasty Kids”, a drive to collect mittens, hats and scarves for children in our area that have a need.

February 13th, 2013 Networking at Durfee – This is special networking event to provide an opportunity to continue and build our connections with each other while we enjoy the refreshing summer weather in the conservatory and take a break from winter.

April 17th 2013 Speed “dating” Networking Luncheon – Spend an hour sipping on “mocktails”, munching on appetizers, and speed “dating” as you spend five minutes at each table chatting with well, everyone! How many times have you come to a luncheon and wished you met more people? This is your chance!

June 12th, 2013 June Social – A free UWN Event, Join us for our year-end event. Bring prospective members to the event as we close out this amazing year we have planned!
