TEMPERATURE ADVISORY
In the book Your Rights on the Job, there is information on the low temperature guidelines of the Massachusetts Division of Occupational Hygiene. Co-workers and supervisors should be made aware of the fact that people vary widely in their ability to physically deal with cold - circulation, base metabolism rates, old injuries, etc. Although the law requires that workplaces be heated "properly" from October 15 to May 15 each year, it does not establish particular temperatures. The DOH has issued the following guidelines for state inspectors to use in determining compliance.
