Article 10 of the Agreement between the Board of Trustees of the University of Massachusetts and the University Staff Association Affiliate of the Massachusetts Teachers Association/NEA provides for the maintenance of a Sick Leave Bank for the employees covered by this agreement. Enrollment in the Sick Leave Bank is voluntary. The article is reproduced in its entirety on the following page.
Records maintained by the Division of Human Resources indicate that you are not currently a member of the USA/MTA/NEA Sick Leave Bank.
The month of February 2003 has been designated as a period during which a USA/MTA/NEA member who is not a participant of the Sick Leave Bank may become a member by assigning one or more full days of his/her personal sick leave accumulation to the Sick Leave Bank, provided that on the date of making such assignment the USA/MTA/NEA member shall have at least three (3) days of personal sick leave.
A form for the purpose of enrolling in the Sick Leave Bank is attached. Additional forms are available at the Human Resources Information Center, 3rd floor, Whitmore Administration Building. For those wishing to enroll in the Sick Leave Bank, completed applications should be returned to the Human Resources Information Center for receipt no later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 28, 2003.
