Have you taken classes with continuing ed?
I've taken both day & evening classes.
I love taking classes and have found that the UGrads and Professors
are very receptive to adult students. The Professor are very
understanding of work & family issues for adults. I really enjoy my
classes and take my homework and research very seriously. I am 43
and just graduated with my Associates Degree and am currently in my
Junior year here. I plan on continuing to my Bacheldor's Degree.
Then I might take some fun courses. I enjoy the break during the
day. Unfortunately, some positions may not have the flexibility to
take day courses - but if you can - do it. Even if it's a fun
course. I take every advantage of the benefit of reduced fees for
taking classes. I was nervous at first, taking a course with so many
young students. But, I have found that there are many other older
people than myself in some of the courses that I have taken. I also
have a friend here continuing her education and we take courses
together, if applicable to both educational needs. That's probably
the first way - start by taking a fun course with a friend. And why
bother taking courses? Education is an asset and we all can use some
kind of updated training.
