Join an industry association related to your product or offering. Subscribe to magazines, periodicals, etc. Start by looking into the NASE (National Association for Self-Employed). With 3 levels of membership, they have great advice and information as well as discounts on insurance, rental cars, a tax newsletter, book club and free e-mail. Do lots of reading and research. Remember that joining these associations is tax-deductible.

The Directory of Associations is a 5000 strong searchable database of business related associations around the world. You can even search by zip code.
