I am now approaching my second year as member-at-large. I had been asked to be Chair of the Public Relations Committee, due to my knowledge of website design and desktop publishing. The Newsgram and just-released web site had become my responsibility and I found that being on the e-board was crucial to knowing what was going on around campus, therefore enabling me to write news stories for our membership. I've found that it's a stimulating and satisfying job. Members are reading the Newsgram and are using the website. We are better informed and more unified as a result of this. I believe this is crucial in this time of scary budget cuts and impending privatization issues. The administration must see us as a whole group, supporting one another at all times. I believe that the Newsgram has the power to do this.

As well as the website and Newsgram, I've also taken on the task of creating t-shirts for USA membership to purchase. We will also be creating a recipe book to raise money for USA. We will be able to sell this outside of UMass, and at USA functions.

I look forward to serving the USA membership for years to come.
