Web Design and Development
Our Web Development team works in collaboration with the Office of Information Technology (OIT) to provide free Drupal web development services to campus groups who host their websites on www.umass.edu. Drupal is the official content management system for the campus.
Whether your web project is a brand-new site, or a redesign of an existing site, we can provide a web development solution that will meet your needs.
Please note: Websites for individual faculty, faculty projects, student projects, or student organizations do not qualify for this free service. Web hosting information for these types of websites can be found on the OIT website at www.oit.umass.edu/web-hosting under the heading 'Personal Web Sites'.
UMass Drupal Package System
University Relations has developed a UMass Drupal Package (UDP) that is best suited for smaller departments, programs and units. The package system has the UMass brand built in, is web-based and comes with hands-on training for staff. This approach allows campus clients to actually build the site and get familiar with the Drupal system. University Relations works with the customer throughout the project and provides assistance as needed.
If you are interested in working with University Relations, you can be added to our project queue for a UMass Drupal Package site.
Custom Drupal Web Development
If your site is more complex, it may require a custom solution. We offer custom Drupal web development and programming. We work with customers to create sites that meet their goals and specifications and while adhering to the campus brand identity.
If you are interested in working with University Relations, you can be added to our project queue for a custom site.
Using a Third-Party Drupal Developer
While UR offers free Drupal web development services to the campus community, we also realize that campus clients may choose to outsource their Drupal site development. If you are planning to use a third-party vendor, please contact us to obtain a copy of the UMass Drupal Developer’s Requirements. Sites developed by third-party vendors must adhere to the university web guidelines - www.umass.edu/universityrelations/graphic-identity/web-guidelines.
