Grace Paley Prize in Short Fiction

Since 1990 the Press has published the annual winner of the Grace Paley Prize in Short Fiction in cooperation with the Association of Writers & Writing Programs (AWP). The $5,000 award is sponsored by AWP, a nonprofit organization that provides community, opportunities, ideas, news, and advocacy for writers and teachers. AWP supports over 34,000 writers, 500 college and university creative writing programs, and 100 writers’ conferences and centers.

Manuscript Submissions

Grace Paley Prize submissions should not be directed to the University of Massachusetts Press offices. For contest guidelines, or to submit your work, please see the AWP website. Entries must be postmarked between Jan. 1 and Feb. 28, 2012.
