American Popular Music Series

This series will include brief, well-written, well-designed, classroom-friendly books that will be useful to students and teachers and accessible to general readers. Although the series is open to a diverse range of approaches, including interdisciplinary studies, the editors are particularly interested in manuscripts and proposals in the following areas:

• Critical biographies of figures in American popular music
• Analytical institutional histories
• Crucial moments in music history
• Music as it is experienced and appropriated
