UMass Press Print Culture Studies Books Praised in Wall Street Journal

Jonathan Rose, a prominent scholar in print culture studies and editor of The Holocaust and the Book: Destruction and Preservation (UMass Press, 2008), wrote a piece for the Wall Street Journal on five of the best books on books.

The first two books are from the UMass Press series Studies in Print Culture and the History of the Book: Aleksandr Nikitenko's The Diary of a Russian Censor and Priscilla Coit Murphy's What a Book Can Do: The Publication and Reception of "Silent Spring"

And the fourth is by an editor of that series, Joan Shelley Rubin, who is also author of Cultural Considerations: Essays on Readers, Writers, and Musicians in Postwar America
