DUTIES OF POSITION: Candidates must possess excellent communication skills, both oral and written, as well as very strong typing skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Dispatchers handle the incoming telephone calls to the Police Department, emergency calls as well as all radio traffic with police officers, Environmental Health and Safety and other agencies. Dispatchers are also responsible for the Emergency Notification System and all fire alarm responses.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Successfully complete an in-house 9-12 week Probationary Dispatch Training program.
BASE SALARY: $29,657 with a 14 step increase to $40,242. State benefits include health insurance and tuition reimbursement
Additional compensation: Uniforms provided as needed
