Typefaces and colors
Color and typography play an integral role in UMass Amherst's graphic identity. UMass maroon (Pantone Matching System® 201) is synonymous with the campus. The fonts, Sabon and Frutiger, express the traditional, academic and collegiate qualities of the campus's identity.
Typefaces
UMass Amherst's official typefaces for print use are Sabon and Frutiger. Correct and consistent use of them helps reinforce the university's identity. Sabon is the designated serif typeface for the university. The roman and italic versions are used to communicate the campus' classic and academic qualities.

Colors
The official colors, UMass maroon (PMS® 201) and white, are a central component of the Graphic Identity Program for all print, product, and online applications. Correct and consistent use of the official colors helps reinforce the university's identity. Do not use another shade of red or maroon as a substitute for UMass maroon.
