Spirit Marks: The Athletic Mascot and Letters
The official athletic mascot design and letters were developed to reflect the energy and enthusiasm of athletics at UMass. Use of the mascot is limited to intercollegiate athletics, registered student groups and non-academic departments and services.
Both the "UM" and the "UMass" athletic letters are popular marks for merchandise and are used for a wide range of items, especially apparel. Whether on products or in print applictions, these marks are associated with the classic spirit and collegiate experience. These marks are not appropriate for use on academic materials.
