Please join us by participating in the 2011 Faculty & Staff Campaign and making a contribution to UMass Amherst this year. Your gift can support scholarships, a specific college or department, an athletic program, or one of hundreds of special programs of your choice.
In recognition of the importance of our participation in the culture of philanthropy at UMass Amherst, a fund of $500,000 will be used to match gifts given by current or retired faculty and staff during the 2011-2012 academic year to enable all of us to expand the strength of our giving to the campus and departments we care about.
Faculty and Staff Campaign
Matching Information
- The campus will match $1 for every $1 given by all current and retired faculty and staff to qualified campus accounts.
- To receive matching funds from the campus, pledges must be received during the campaign period (July 1, 2011 through December 31, 2011) and must be paid in full by June 30, 2012, with payments being matched on a first come, first serve basis.
- All gifts and pledges made during the campaign through continuous payroll deduction will automatically be matched through June 30, 2012.
- Contributions designated to any campus account will be matched, except for tickets to university events and deferred gifts, also known as planned gifts or estate commitments.
- The campus match cannot be used in the donor's total for membership in campus donor societies or clubs.
- Matching gifts from the employer of a spouse or domestic partner will not qualify for campus matching funds. Gifts made by the spouse or domestic partner of a faculty, staff or retiree will be eligible for the campus match.
- Campus matching funds will be distributed into the same account as the original gift
