Five College Student Symposium on Community Engagement
National civil rights activist, former mayor of Berkeley, Calif., and local community development champion Gus Newport will be the keynote at this momentous gathering of Five College folk.
Music and spoken word follows the event by local artist AfroDZak. A free dinner follows, from Mi Plaza (a local restaurant that uses food from community gardens).
For the first time, students from the Five Colleges who are committed to learning outside of the classroom through community service and non-profit internships will come together to redefine, participate in, and celebrate community.
