Film: The Hiding Place (Das Versteck)
This film boasts an all-star pedigree, with script by Jurek Becker, directing by Frank Beyer and acting by Manfred Krug. Presented by Christine Becker, the widow and collaborator of renowned (East) German author Jurek Becker, this comedy follows the desperate plots of Max, who wants to win his ex-wife back. Beyer and Becker conceived of this film as an answer to Ingmar Berman's "Scenes from a Marriage" -- socialist-style.
