Over the course of the fall of 1989, the Monday demonstrations held in Leipzig, East Germany, starting in September became a focal point for the new citizens’ rights movement that would result in the opening of the Berlin Wall on the evening of November 9, 1989. Leipzig in the Fall is the most comprehensive documentation of the demonstrations and other events in Leipzig from October 16 - November 7, 1989. It includes interviews with demonstrators, members of the citizens’ rights movement, officials, and bystanders for an in-depth look at the movement that would end the Cold War and change the fact of the world.
