Distinguished Faculty Lecture: M. V. Lee Badgett - Watch Live Online
M. V. Lee Badgett of the Department of Economics and Center for Public Policy and Administration presents "From I Can’t To I Do: When Gay People Get Married."
Watch the lecture online beginning at 4 p.m. on November 9.
Five years after Massachusetts became the first U.S. state to permit same-sex marriage, local and global debates still focus on key questions—will gay people change marriage? Will marriage change gay people? Are we moving too fast? Drawing on the Massachusetts experience and extensive data from The Netherlands, Professor Badgett will address these questions, comparing the results to other countries and states with and without legal rights for same-sex couples.
Free and open to all. Reception follows the lecture.
Sponsored by the Office of the Chancellor and the Office of the Provost.
