Introduction to ATLAS.ti and CAT for Qualitative Analysis

A workshop on qualitative data analysis, presented by Stuart Shulman. Shulman is Assistant Professor of Political Science at UMass and Director of the Qualitative Data Analysis Program Associate Director of the National Center for Digital Government.

Workshop Schedule:

10:00am – 12:00pm: Measuring Validity and Reliability in Coding. The morning colloquium will demonstrate the ways in which CAT is used in a variety of multi-disciplinary research projects to measure, improve, and report reliability and validity in coding.

12:00pm - 1:00pm: Lunch

1:00pm – 4:00pm: Introduction to ATLAS.ti &CAT. A hands-on, computer lab-based training introducing techniques for using ATLAS.ti and the Coding Analysis Toolkit (CAT) effectively on multi-coder projects.
