Exhibit: "Broken Appeal for Balance"
This exhibit features recent paintings by UMass Art Department alumna Sandy Litchfield '03G. In them, she explores the roles that fiction and fantasy play in helping us to understand and resolve conflict and anxiety. For the artist, paintings serve as portals to explore and invent an imaginary place. As this place evolves, it can help us consider the ways in which memory fuses with our imagination to create a vision of the future, and how this projection affects our hopes and plans.
There will be an opening reception for this exhibit on September 10, from 4pm-6pm.
The "Broken Appeal for Balance" exhibit is free and open to all Five College students, faculty, staff, and the general public. Regular gallery hours are: Mon-Fri: 11am-4pm and Sun: 1pm-4pm. The gallery is closed on Saturdays.
